DigiCONS Team Visit to Portugal Strengthens International Collaboration

In April 2026, Dr Konstantina Martzoukou, Dr Errol Luders and Ms Emma Hay-Higgins, academic staff at Robert Gordon University (RGU) visited beautiful Lisbon, as part of the ongoing DigiCONS (Digital Co-Creation with Nursing Students) research project. The visit was hosted at ESEUL Escola Superior de Enfermagem da Universidade de Lisboa https://enfermagem.ulisboa.pt/en by Professor Andreia Silva da Costa and Professor Tiago Nascimento. It brought together the project partners to further advance collaboration, share expertise and shape the future international direction of the project.

Over three days (14-16 April), the RGU team engaged in a busy programme of activities, including research planning, research discussions and a dissemination workshop. The visit strengthened the international impact of DigiCONS through joint development of a shared action plan, while key discussions focused on future project proposals and completing practical work that involves the implementation and scaling of the DigiCONS Toolkit. The team was also delighted to deliver a project presentation to students and from the Master’s Degree in Community Health Nursing and Public Health, fostering knowledge exchange and engagement with emerging healthcare professionals.

This visit marks an important step in strengthening our international partnership and advancing the mission of DigiCONS to enhance digital competencies in nursing and healthcare education through co-creation, innovation and evidence-based practice.
